Our founder, Brian (Hammond) first manufactured drysuits for the London Dinghy Centre (LDC) in 1979.  Approached by LDC’s (now RS Sailing) then owner to produce a drysuit for his store.

A skilled craftsman, Brian set about designing the original range. Developing his own fittings, many of which although now enhanced with the latest technology, are still the most reliable and long-lasting on the market today.

By the 1980’s we’d rebranded as Hammond Drysuits, designing drysuits for sailors, water-skiers, scuba-divers, jet skiers and windsurfers. By demanding the very best from our own drysuits, we quickly expanded into the commercial, industrial and children’s drysuit markets.

We were incredibly proud to develop the first shortie drysuit with medical line access in 2005. After a doctor approached the team, asking if we could adapt a drysuit for use with a Hickman Line – critical it stayed dry – for her daughter. Still one of our most popular drysuits today.  

We now work with charities in the UK and Ireland, and individuals around the world helping children and adults get back to the watersports they love. Without interrupting treatment.

Hammond Drysuits remains family run today, with Chris (Hammond) and wife Natasha at the helm of our talented crew of drysuit craftsmen and women. Providing made-to-measure drysuits, standard drysuits and a reliable, quick drysuit repair service.

Expanding beyond the range with Hammond’s own brand of technical thermal under drysuit layers, CoreTek.

We’re proud that Search and Rescue crews, lifeboat crew and individuals working in water daily, rely on Hammond drysuits for long-lasting strength and flexibility. Knowing they can trust this major piece of kit means their whole focus rests on the big task ahead.
